Collet

A part of almost every bending kit is the Collet, which is used to strengthen and guide the tube during the bend.
Collets

Collets are used in nearly every bending kit, and their purpose is to hold, strengthen, and guide the tube during the bend. They are fitted to mount to a specific machine and should be fitted to each tube shape and size.

In some cases, the Collet is also part of the booster system, which is used on more complicated applications. Tube stops may also be applied to control the depth that the tube can be inserted into the Collet.

These are essentially a set of insert pads, which are bolted or pressure loaded into a spring mechanism that is fixed to the machine.

This type of Collet is made of one piece of steel with cutouts that allow the machine to squeeze the collet and hold the tube.
